Mission

To be our members' most trusted financial partner.

Members Advantage Credit Union began in 1962 in the rectory basement of Queen Of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City. With a goal of loaning out money at low rates, seven members contributed $5 each to form Queen Of All Saints Parish Federal Credit Union.

These original members asked Leona Bruno to assist in collecting deposits, and in 1964 she was officially assigned the title of manager. She was a dedicated member for most of her life to Members Advantage Credit Union, to county and state levels of the credit union movement, and to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”

Eventually, the move was made to 2424 S. Franklin Street in Michigan City. In 1979 the credit union reached its first million in assets, opened up its field of membership to the remaining Catholic churches in Michigan City, and changed its name to Catholic Federal Credit Union.

The main office of the credit union moved to 3064 S. Ohio Street in 1990, and over time, the credit union began accepting members of churches of other faiths as well as employees of local businesses. Consequently, the decision to rename the credit union to Members Advantage Credit Union was made in 1997. A drive-up branch was added in 1996 at 947. S. Woodland Avenue in Michigan City, and the Portage branch located on US Highway 6 opened its doors on April 15, 2010.

On December 31, 2005, Anco/Nwi Federal Credit Union merged with Members Advantage Credit Union.

Today, Members Advantage Credit Union is a locally owned and managed, full-service financial institution open to anyone who lives or works in LaPorte, Porter or Lake County. It offers a variety of products and services including: first and second mortgages, auto and recreational vehicle loans, home equity lines of credit, signature loans, interest bearing checking, money market accounts, an investment service center, direct deposit, platinum, gold and classic VISA Credit Cards, Shared Branching, an ATM/Debit Card, Online Banking, and Online Bill Pay.
